Signed book: The Public Papers of Grover Cleveland, Twenty-Second President of the United States, March 4, 1885 to March 4, 1889. First edition. Washington, DC: Government Printing Office, 1889. Hardcover bound in half morocco with marbled boards and textblock edges, 8.25 x 11.75, 578 pages. Signed and inscribed on a free end page in ink, "Frederic Shmard, Compliments of Grover Cleveland, Jan. 30 1891." A portrait bearing a facsimile signature is affixed to the adjacent page. Autographic condition: fine. Book condition: VG-/None, with the spine expertly rebacked, surface loss to edges of marbled boards, and losses and wear leather on the corners. An impressively bound presentation volume chronicling President Cleveland's first term in office.
