Partly-printed vellum DS as president, one page, 13.5 x 18, July 5, 1836. President Jackson appoints Rhett J. Mott as an “Assistant Surgeon in the service of the United States.” Signed at the conclusion by Andrew Jackson, and countersigned by Secretary of War Lewis Cass. The embossed white War Office seal remains affixed to upper left panel. In fine condition, with Jackson's signature somewhat light but fully legible.
