Description

English aviatrix (1903-1941) who became the first female pilot to fly alone from Britain to Australia; she later drowned after bailing out over the Thames. Striking vintage matte-finish 3.25 x 5.25 photo of Amy Johnson wearing her aviation coat and goggles, signed in fountain pen. Reverse bears a J. Capstack photography stamp. In very good to fine condition, with some creasing and light silvering.
