Agreement between NBI/Elia Kazan and Warren Beatty for him to render services "in the portrayal of the role of Bud Stamper in the motion picture…presently entitled Splendor in the Grass." The document has been heavily edited and annotated throughout, and initialed by Beatty fifteen times and Kazan thirteen times, with both signing in full at the conclusion. In fine condition, with toning to tape affixing several slips and riders throughout the document. Directed by Kazan and starring Natalie Wood opposite Warren Beatty—in his screen debut—Splendor in the Grass is a classic Technicolor teenage romance. William Inge won the Oscar for 'Best Writing, Story and Screenplay,' while Wood received a nomination for her part; Beatty took home the Golden Globe for 'Most Promising Newcomer - Male.'
