Description

Satin-finish 14 x 11 photo of an LCVP, or Higgins boat, from the U.S. Coast Guard-manned USS Samuel Chase, with troops of Company E, 16th Infantry, 1st Infantry Division (the Big Red One) wading onto the Fox Green section of Omaha Beach on the morning of June 6, 1944, signed in black felt tip by seven heroes of the second World War—Bud Anderson, Martin Fleisher, Peter Fantacone, Bob Bearden, John Bistrica, Bernard Nolan, and Don Jakeway. In fine condition, with a PSA/DNA label affixed to lower right corner. Accompanied by a full letter of authenticity from PSA/DNA. American soldiers encountered the newly formed German 352nd Division when landing. During the initial landing two-thirds of Company E became casualties.
