Description

One of the superstar anchors of the 1956 set, this blazer presents a classic portrait of the smiling Ted Williams in his Boston Red Sox hat on the left side, superimposed over an image of him taking a mighty left-handed swing. Well established as one of baseball’s all-time greats, Williams held the best career batting average of any active player going into the 1956 season, and had led the league in home runs and RBI four times each. When he retired in 1960, Williams was a six-time batting champ, highlighted by his legendary .406 average in 1941. Well centered with sharp corners, an even glossy sheen, and a bright white back, this is a superior example of Williams’s 1956 Topps issue. PSA has graded only one higher than this MINT 9 beauty.

Buyer's Premium is 20% on all 1956 Topps Cards.
