Coutts & Company bank check, 7.25 x 3.25, filled out and signed by Wellington, "Wellington," payable to his wife, "The Duchess of Wellington" for £210, September 23, 1826. Affixed to a larger scrapbook page, annotated in the margin by a collector, in part: "Given to me by the second Duke of Wellington, September 7th 1881." In very good condition, with several vertical folds, light toning, and staining. A scarce example, this is the first Wellington check we've ever offered.
