TLS signed “F.D.R.,” one page, 7 x 8.75, White House letterhead, December 1, 1935. Letter to the Hon. Edward A. Conger, in full: "Many thanks for all the trouble you have taken in regard to Mrs. William Irish. You were fine to go into the matter personally. I do hope to see you one of these days soon." In fine condition. Following a distinguished legal career in New York as a judge and attorney, Conger was appointed by FDR to a new seat on the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York in 1938; he remained on the bench until his death in 1963.
