Description

Three unsigned items: a black-bordered souvenir engraving from the Congressional memorial service for James A. Garfield held on February 27, 1882, produced by the Bureau of Engraving and Printing, 9.75 x 6, featuring an image of Garfield in a cartouche surrounded by American flags, laurels, a sword, the Capitol building, and the White House, and bearing the facsimile signatures of John Sherman and William McKinley (as Chairmen of the Senate and House Committees, respectively); and a pair of matching 4.25 x 6.5 cabinet card portraits of President James A. Garfield and First Lady Lucretia Garfield by Pell. In overall fine condition, with some small stains to the cabinet photos, and old mounting remnants to the back of all three items.
