French realist artist and sculptor (1822-1899) known for her paintings of animals. Two ALSs in French, totaling six pages on three sheets, dated 1879 and 1890. The first, in part (translated): "I have just received a letter from Mr. Gilibert whom I have recommended to you as a most distinguished artist and whose hunting scenes are very interesting, especially to people who like this sort of art. I therefore request that you kindly grant Mr. Gilibert a warm welcome and lots of encouragement. He would appreciate your helping him in the sale of his works. He is much admired in France and already in England and by the Scottish families Duncan." In fine condition, with two old pieces of tape to the upper left corner of the earlier letter. Accompanied by one original mailing envelope, addressed in Bonheur's hand.
