Large color 35.5 x 50.5 poster for Christo's 'Wrapped Floors Project' exhibited at the Architekturmuseum in Basel, Switzerland from June 15 to July 1, 1984, signed on the right side in brown artist pencil. Rolled and in fine condition, with some light edge creasing.
Christo and his wife Jeanne-Claude routinely 'wrapped' familiar structures and landscapes to prompt new ways of seeing through concealment. Using materials like nylon, polypropylene fabric, concrete, aluminum, and steel, Christo and Jeanne-Claude produced works that were striking in both their scale and their sensitivity to the environments they shrouded. The works were credited solely to Christo until 1994, when the outdoor works and large indoor installations were retroactively credited to Christo and Jeanne-Claude. Due to their temporary nature, Christo was quoted as saying, 'Do you know that I don't have any artworks that exist? They all go away when they're finished.'
