Description

Signed book: Citadel: The Story of the U.S. Senate. NY: Harper & Brothers, 1957. Hardcover with dust jacket, 6 x 8.5, 274 pages. Signed and inscribed on the first free end page in blue ballpoint, "To Felix McKnight, always able—always fair and my friend, Lyndon B. Johnson." In fine condition, with some chips and creases to the dust jacket. As the managing editor at the Dallas Times Herald in 1963, McKnight coordinated the entire news coverage of President Kennedy's fateful trip to Dallas. His original lead story about the visit was tossed out when news of the assassination emerged.
