Lower portion bears preprinted signatures of Mission Director Nathan Lindsey and Mission Commander Fred Gregory, with bottom caption reading, in part: "This patch was stowed aboard the Space Shuttle Discovery during its 5 day, 7 hour, and 32 minute flight that completed 79 orbits and travelled nearly two million miles in space." In fine condition. From the personal collection of Paul Kruppenbacher, a member of the NASA Houston Landing and Recovery Division who trained Apollo astronauts in water recovery procedures and was deployed on U.S. Navy aircraft carriers for crew and spacecraft recovery operations.
