Uncommon 11 x 8.5 laserprint photo of the destruction at Hiroshima, lengthily annotated and signed in blue felt tip, "The alternative to the Hiroshima bombing was to continue to send hundreds of B29 bombers daily to destroy Japanese cities and military facilities—massive burning and leveling. This was war. And there was scheduled an immense Allied invasion of Japanese islands in November. The hope and expectation was the atomic bombing would terminate the conflict of WWII and further destruction and loss of lives. Morris Jeppson, Weapons Test Officer, Enola Gay Mission, Hiroshima 6 Aug., 1945." In very fine condition, with a slightly grainy quality to the image.
