Accompanied by an autograph transmittal letter from the noted American bibliophile James Carleton Young, June 18, 1915, in part: "'The Persian Pearl' is one of the rarest of all the Roycroft publications and has long been out of print. This copy autographed by the author Clarence Darrow is especially rare. As you doubtless know he is the celebrated lawyer"; the letter has near-complete separation to the central horizontal fold, and is accompanied by the original envelope.
