ALS signed “S. P. Chase,” one page, 6 x 7.5, October 26, 1855. Letter to a gentleman, in part: "Your very kind note came when I was on the point of starting for New Hampshire…I would now accept your invitation to lecture…I expect to be in Washington about the middle of December to argue my only remaining case in the Supreme Court of the U. States." In very good to fine condition, with a small thin stain to the top, and light creasing along the right edge. Accompanied by an unsigned engraved portrait.
