Description

TLS, one page, 8 x 10.5, December 11, 1904. Letter to Admiral Charles O'Neil, in part: "Several days ago, I had an interview with Capt. R.D. Bucknam, Aide-de-Camp to the Sultan of Turkey, to whom you referred in a recent letter. As a result of the interview, and at his request, I wrote him a letter, of which I enclose you a copy." Attached is the eight-page copy of Maxim's letter to Bucknam (secretarially signed), containing descriptions of his "new high explosive, Armorite" and "new smokeless gunpowder." In fine condition, with light creasing and toning.
