Hand-addressed circa 1966 Soviet-era mailing envelope, 6.25 x 4.5, addressed in Cyrillic by Shostakovich and signed by him as part of the return address along the bottom, "D. Shostakovich." In fine condition. In 1966, Shostakovich produced his Cello Concerto No. 2, Opus 126. The 35-minute-long piece in three movements would premier in Moscow in September, performed by the USSR State Symphony Orchestra under the direction of Shostakovich's friend and fellow composer Yevgeny Svetlanov.
