Partly-printed DS, signed “Henry Wells" and "Wm. G. Fargo,” one page, 12 x 8.5, May 1, 1866. Handsomely engraved stock certificate for five shares in the American Express Company, issued to L. M. Waite. Signed at the conclusion by Henry Wells as president, William Fargo as secretary, and Alex Holland as treasurer. In very good to fine condition, with an area of light toning, and several unobtrusive cancellation cuts to the bottom, two of which touch Wells's signature.
