Taft," one page, 5.5 x 9, War Department letterhead, September 19, 1904, in part: "I thank you for…the copies of your book on General Smith and George Kean's paper on 'Holding Up a State,' which you kindly sent me"; and one signed "Wm. H. Taft," one page, 7 x 9.25, personal letterhead, in part: "Thank you sincerely for taking the trouble to write me your valued approval of my Morristown speech." In very good to fine condition, with some light soiling and staining to the later letter. Accompanied by a third letter from Taft to Wilson, signed in a secretarial hand.
