Description

Seven items, including: a group of four TLSs, each one page, dated between 1946 and 1965, with highlights as follows: April 22, 1946: “I was pleased to receive your letter and the clipping which you enclosed concerning my recent interview with Dewitt Mackenzie”; October 24, 1950: “You are quite right that I am terribly busy with military matters and away a great amount of the time making inspections, attending conferences, etc.”; March 8, 1954: “I deeply appreciate your support and approval of my assumption of my new duties as president of The Citadel”; and July 6, 1965: “Your letter on June 26 arrived just as I was relinquishing the presidency of The Citadel to my successor, General Hugh P. Harris.” Also included is a group of three photos, each of which are signed and inscribed in black ink or felt tip: a 6 x 9 book photo of Clark riding in a jeep in liberated Rome, a matte-finish 8 x 10 photo of Clark in his four-star uniform, and the cover of Time magazine from July 7, 1952, matted to an overall size of 8.75 x 10.5, signed and inscribed on the mat. In overall very good to fine condition. Accompanied by two unsigned photos of Clark and a pair of original mailing envelopes.
