Description

Partly-printed vellum DS, signed “George R,” one page, 16.5 x 11, July 1, 1800. King George III appoints Howard Elphinstone "to be a Captain Lieutenant in Our Corps of Royal Engineers whereof Our Master General of the Ordnance is Colonel and Commander in Chief." Signed in the upper left by King George III, and countersigned in the lower right by William Howe. In very good to fine condition, with multiple vertical folds.
