As governor of Tennessee, Johnson grants Joel Maxwell a "Certain Tract or Parcel of Land, containing One Hundred Acres…lying in said County of Overton on the waters of Spring Creek." Signed at the conclusion by Governor Johnson. Beautifully mounted, cloth-matted and framed with an engraved portrait and plaque to an overall size of 31 x 25.5. In fine condition, with light toning along the intersecting folds.
