French aviation pioneer (1896-1960) who set speed and endurance records for distance flights in the 1920s and 1930s. In December 1928, he set the world's record for distance flown in the European circuits, he flew the first flight from Paris to Hanoi in January 1932, and in May 1934, with co-pilot Maurice Rossi, he crossed the Atlantic from Paris to New York in a record 38 hours and 27 minutes. Vintage glossy 5 x 7 head-and-shoulders portrait of Paul Codos, signed and inscribed in French in white fountain pen, with Codos adding the date of June 1, 1950. In fine condition.
