Rare cassette tape test pressing of 'Diamonds and Pearls,' the title track from Prince and The New Power Generation's 1991 studio album, presented to Prince at Paisley Park for his approval. The A-side of the tape features an affixed label with typed caption: "08/8/91 / Test Recording from Specialty Records Corporation, DIGalog, Ferric / Account: Warner Bros. / Sel #: 25379 RE-1, Artist: Prince." Original plastic cassette tape case bears an affixed label marked: "'Diamonds and Pearls' Test." In fine condition. An upbeat ballad with a rock edge, 'Diamonds and Pearls' was a top 10 hit that reached number 3 on the US Billboard Hot 100 and the top spot on the Hot R&B Songs chart in America.
