Description

Pioneering archaeologist (1822-1890) best known for his excavations at the ancient sites of Troy and Mycenae. Unsigned handwritten note in ink by Heinrich Schliemann, penned on the front of his personal 3.75 x 2 calling card, which reads: "Dear Sir, If you will be tomorrow at 2 p.m. in the Mycenian Museum in the Polytechnical School…I shall have the greatest pleasure to explain everything to you." In very good to fine condition, with scattered light staining.
