Copley, August 27, 1973, in full: "My thanks to you and Helen for your kind words and good wishes. They are a source of strength at a very trying time, and I appreciate your getting in touch." The second, signed "Ted Agnew," to Helen Copley, October 8, 1973, in full: "Judy and I mourn with you for Jim, but there are so many happy memories in which we hope that you, too, will find consolation in time." Two days later, Agnew resigned from the vice presidency, charged with accepting bribes to falsify federal tax returns. In fine condition, with staple holes to the upper left corner of the later letter. Accompanied by a custom-made presentation folder with gilt-lettered morocco spine.
