Description

Vintage matte-finish 8 x 10 photo of the husband and wife acting couple posing on a sofa, signed and inscribed in fountain pen, "To Florence, from Joan Crawford and" and "Franchot Tone.” In fine condition. Tone and Crawford, who married in 1935, made seven films together—Today We Live (1933), Dancing Lady (1933), Sadie McKee (1934), No More Ladies (1935), The Gorgeous Hussy (1936), Love on the Run (1936), and The Bride Wore Red (1937). Although the couple divorced four years later, Crawford cared for Tone when he was dying of lung cancer, routinely paying for his food and medical treatments.
