Description

Colonial governor of the Province of North Carolina and the Province of New York (1729- 1788). Revolutionary War-dated manuscript DS, signed “Rec'd Wm. Tryon, Gov'r,” one page, 5.75 x 4.5, March 18, 1778. Document confirming payment receipts, in part: "Account of Fees received at the Secretarys Office, New York for His Excellency the Governor Viz't, On 54 Marriage Lycenses issued between the 1st January and 18 March 1778." Signed at the conclusion by Governor Tryon and by Deputy Secretary John Moore. Document is affixed to a same-size sheet. In fine condition, with trimmed edges.
