Flown fabric American flag, 5.5 x 4, carried aboard the Space Shuttle Columbia during its second flight on November 12-14, 1981. Flag is attached to its original 8.5 x 11 certificate, which reads “Presented to Harold J. Ferrese…in recognition of the significant contribution you made to the success of the mission.” Certificate also bears printed signatures of shuttle astronauts Joe Engle and Richard Truly. In very good to fine condition, with staining to the flag from the adhesive used to affix it to the lightly toned mounting sheet.
