Rare 1″ celluloid pinback button created in support of Louis A. Johnson's candidacy for the Democratic presidential nomination in 1952, featuring a portrait of Johnson with black text below, "Lou for '52." In fine condition. Johnson had been the chief fundraiser for Harry S. Truman's campaigns, and served as Secretary of Defense under Truman from 1949-1950. His campaign for president was short-lived, and little record of it exists today. From the collection of Brigadier General Robert L. Schulz, longtime military aide to Dwight D. Eisenhower.
