President of Egypt (born 1918) from 1970 until his assassination in 1981. For his role in the historic Camp David Peace Agreement, he shared the 1978 Nobel Peace Prize with Israeli Prime Minister Menachem Begin. Matte-finish 7 x 9.5 three-quarter-length portrait of President Anwar Sadat in a handsome suit and tie, signed and inscribed in English and Arabic in black ink. In very good to fine condition, with a paperclip impression to the top edge and creasing to the left side. Accompanied by the original letter of transmittal, dated May 22, 1976.
