Presented is an extremely high grade 19th Century baseball cabinet card featuring two likely local minor league ballplayers, each holding baseball bats. The image itself is crystal clear with superb contrast, and is perfectly placed within the cabinet card 'frame.' The cabinet card itself is minimally NM-MT with a near perfectly intact gilt edge, with similarly conditioned print of Ballard (Studios) Waterloo, WI along the bottom. While many of these 19th century cabinets exhibit signs of handling over the years, this example is nearly flawless. The reverse of these 19th century cards are typically fraught with paper loss, writing, and other markings, but this card exhibits only a single area of light discoloration to one corner. This is one of the nicest 19th Century baseball cabinet cards in existence.
