Description

American explorer and naturalist (1884-1960) whose far-flung adventures on archaeological expeditions in the Far East were said to have served as the inspiration for fictional screen hero Indiana Jones. Vintage glossy 5 x 6.75 photo of the adventurer with a camel, signed and inscribed in fountain pen, "To Kenneth Browne, from Roy Chapman Andrews, Gobi Desert.” Reverse bears a typed collector's notation indicating that the autograph was received in 1954. In fine condition, with light surface impressions from typed notation on the back.
