Description

Unique ticket for the first session of the Republican National Convention in Chicago on July 9, 1952, with the gate, section, and row printed in red, "1KE," signifying Eisenhower's famous nickname, "Ike." The pass is encased in a 6.5 x 4.25 x .75 block of Lucite, engraved with a presentation inscription: "Sunrise - 11:59 A.M. - July 11, 1952, R.L.S. from E.J.B. Sept. 17, 1952." Also includes a bold fountain pen signature using the moniker, "Ike Eisenhower," on an off-white 2.75 x .75 slip clipped from the close of a letter. In fine condition. A unique memento from the convention that nominated Eisenhower for president, paired with a desirable variation of his signature that features his great nickname-turned-campaign slogan: 'I like Ike!' From the collection of Brigadier General Robert L. Schulz, longtime military aide to Dwight D. Eisenhower.
