Description

TLS signed “Louis,” two pages, 8.5 x 11, February 2, 1966. Letter to "Bill," in part: "Thanks very much for the piece on paper-making in Nepal. I am very much interested in anything that concerns the making or publication of books, as you will see when my historical novel on the 12th century appears (All finished) and I've done a little looking into the subject." He goes on to an in-depth discussion of various books on Chinese "chemical arts" and "botany," including those by Li Ch'io-p'ing, Joseph Rook, Frank Kingdon-Ward, and Joseph Hooker. Concluding, he discusses his novels adapted to the silver screen: "I have a picture out, Kid Rodelo…but I do not think it very good. It is about the area south of Yuma in the Pinacate region, which you know all about. The picture, incidentally, was filmed in Spain! And to make matters still more intriguing, there is a talk of filming Shalako in Iran!" In fine condition, with scattered light creasing.
