Description

Official 1976 strip plate-style RIAA platinum sales award presented "to Larry Magid to commemorate the sale of more than 1,000,000 copies of the A&M Records long-playing record album 'Frampton Comes Alive,'" a seminal number-one record of the era, and the biggest selling live album of all time. It was a breakthrough album for Frampton. Framed with its disc, plate, and small album image to an overall size of 16.75 x 20.75. Award retains its original backing with New York Frame & Picture label. In fine condition, with disc label detached and loose within frame, which also bears some scattered scuffs. From the collection of Larry Magid, promoter and co-owner of Philly-based Electric Factory Concerts, responsible for breaking many of the most significant artists of the era. Magid helped launch the careers of many of the greatest stars of the past half-century—his contribution was acknowledged with this award.
