Description

American clergyman (1835-1893) best known as the lyricist of the popular Christmas carol 'O Little Town of Bethlehem.' ALS, one page, 5 x 7.75, May 1, 1879. Written from Boston, a letter to Sally R. Kingman, in full: "I thank you very much for your kind remembrance. The study looks & smells very much like May Day." In fine condition. Accompanied by the original mailing envelope, addressed in Brooks's hand.
