Desirable AMQS on an off-white 6 x 3.5 sheet, signed below in ink, "Giacomo Puccini, Torre del Lago, 1906." Puccini pens three bars from his iconic opera La Boheme. In fine condition, with staining to the lower right corner. Based on a story by French writer Henri Murger set in 1840s Paris, La Boheme was Puccini's first major success—making him rich and famous—and arguably his greatest work. After its 1896 debut in Turin, the piece was quickly adopted into the international repertory. Puccini lived and worked in a villa in the seaside town of Torre del Lago, which is today the host of the annual Festival Puccini.
