Used by Prince in the 'Gold Experience' era

Prince's personally-owned and -used Shure Beta 58 vocal microphone from his mid-1990s 'The Gold Experience' era, with the body painted gold and a grill to match. Includes a Superlux PRO-258 padded carrying case and plastic microphone holder. In very good to fine condition, with scuffing to the gold paint at the top and bottom of the body. Accompanied by a handwritten letter of provenance from Howie Hubberman, originally written for a pair of microphones, in part: "These (2) Shure Gold Beta 58 mics were owned and used by Prince, Rhonda Smith received these from Prince while she was playing bass for him. There were a total of (3). They were collected and were part of the estate of Gavin Menzies." Menzies was a noted guitar tech and music industry insider. Rhonda Smith joined Prince's band, The NPG, after a chance meeting with Shiela E. in 1996; she toured with Prince and played on his records for more than a decade.
