Produced in limited numbers, the World Series 'Black Bat' was presented to participating players from teams in the World Series, various league officials, high-ranking executives, and other dignitaries. The dark bats feature the names of the entire team in gold, with names in script for Hillerich & Bradsby (H&B) endorsees, and block letters for non H&B endorsed players. Black bats for the winning teams read "World Champions," while the losing teams read American or National League Champions. This offered bat was issued for the 1964 New York Yankees World Series participation, a series they lost to the St. Louis Cardinals in seven games, significant due to this being the final World Series season of the Mickey Mantle era. The bat is in Near Mint overall condition with very little overall wear.
