ALS, one page both sides, 5.5 x 7.25, 7 Westminster Gardens letterhead, March 29, 1947. Letter to Mr. Salisbury, in full: "Thank you for your letter. I am sorry I will not see you at Darlington on 22 April. I will do my best to unveil the Panel in a worthy manner. I hope you have a good trip to America. I have been laid up with an attack of flu and some sinus trouble. But I am now recovered." Montgomery adds a postscript and signs with his initials: "Your picture in Moscow was not in its place. I heard about it. But it was removed one day and no reason was given! M. of A." In very good to fine condition, with somewhat irregular trimming to the left edge.
