Description

DS, signed “George R. I.,” two pages, 8.25 x 12.5, March 2, 1937. Official letter to Federico Laredo Brú, offering congratulations on his ascendancy as the new president of Cuba, in part: "We request You to accept Our sincere congratulations on this distinguished mark of the confidence of Your fellow citizens, together with Our best wishes for Your health and happiness, while We avail Ourselves of the opportunity to assure You of Our constant friendship and of the lively interest which We take in all that conduces to the welfare and prosperity of the Republic over which you have been called to preside." Signed boldly at the conclusion by King George. In very good to fine condition, with light creasing to the upper right, a rusty paperclip impression and light staining to the top edge, and strips of mounting remnants along the left edges.
