Description

French physician (1781-1826) who invented the stethoscope in 1816 and pioneered its use for diagnosing chest problems. Partly-printed DS, one page, 15.75 x 10, August 26, 1807. Certificate accepting "Mr. Monet (francois)" as a member of the "Société Anatomique," signed at the conclusion in ink by Laennec as the society's president, and countersigned by three other society officials. In fine condition, with a central vertical fold and some light toning in the borders.
