Unusual cover with a stamped cachet honoring the American "Journey to the Moon," postmarked in Aldrin's birthplace of Montclair, New Jersey, on the moon landing date of July 20, 1969, signed in black ink, "Buzz Aldrin." The cachet reads, "On this day in July, 1969 man first landed on the moon as Apollo 11 astronauts Edwin 'Buzz' Aldrin and Neil Armstrong successfully descended to the lunar surface in their Lunar Module nicknamed 'Eagle.'" Surrounding the text are the names of NASA's projects, "Mercury," "Gemini," and "Apollo," as well as a line memorializing the fallen Apollo 1 astronauts, "Grissom - White - Chaffee," and a line honoring Aldrin's origins, "Montclair, N. J.—birth place of 'Buzz' Aldrin." In fine condition.
