Fourth president of India (1894-1980) who was the only person to be elected as an independent candidate. Following his full term, Giri was honoured by the Government of India with the Bharat Ratna in 1975. Three items: a matte-finish 5.5 x 7 portrait of Giri as president of India, signed in fountain pen, "V. V. Giri"; and two different FDCs with color cachets honoring the 25th anniversary of Indian independence, each signed in blue ballpoint, "V. V. Giri." In overall fine condition.
