Description

Color glossy 20 x 16 composite photo of the STS-41-B crew and various images from their nearly 8-day mission, featuring a flown embroidered mission patch affixed to lower right, signed in the lower border in black felt tip by Vance Brand, Hoot Gibson, Ron McNair, Bob Stewart, and Bruce McCandless, with an inscription to the upper border: "To Kandy Hosea—many thanks for your great support of STS 41-B!" Caption inherent to bottom area of photo reads: "This patch was flown aboard the Space Shuttle 'Challenger' (STS 41-B) during the first untethered space walk and landing at Kennedy Space Center. February 3-11, 1984." Photo is mounted to a same-size cardstock board. In very good condition, with overall fading, two short tears to the bottom edge, and some light scratching and gouging to the image. STS-41-B included the first untethered spacewalks, accomplished by Bruce McCandless and Bob Stewart.
