Excellent original 1980 painting by Voskhod 2 spacewalker Alexei Leonov entitled 'Salyut I," accomplished in oil on a 8 x 9.25 sheet of cold press illustration board. The work depicts the moment before the Salyut 1 space station docked with the Soyuz 10 spacecraft on April 24, 1971. Signed in the lower right in gray paint by Leonov. Double-matted and framed with a plaque to an overall size of 18.5 x 22. In fine condition.
