Letter to Albert Halstead of the Springfield Union, in full: "I am sorry you could not stop off at Canton, but I am much obliged for your congratulatory letter." In fine condition. McKinley had just earned the Republican nomination for president during the Republican National Convention in St. Louis, which took place from June 16-18, 1896.
