Description

German scientist and pioneer of chemotherapy (1854-1915) who was co-awarded the Nobel Prize for Medicine with Ilya Ilyich Mechnikov in 1908. Vintage 3.5 x 5.5 postcard portrait of Paul Ehrlich, signed in the lower border in ink by the Nobel Prize winner. The reverse bears ALS in German by his wife, Hedwig Ehrlich, signed “H. Ehrlich,” postmarked at Frankfurt, August 31, 1909, sending greetings to the British bacteriologist Henry George Plimmer. In very good to fine condition, with adhesive residue over the letter, and heavy edge wear.
